Our Beliefs

Who We Are

Our Location:

We are here because this is where God has ordained that we should be.

·         From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. (Acts 17:26)

Our Mission:

Our mission is to carry out the two greatest commands that God has given us and thereby fulfill the whole law of God.

  • "That we should love God, love our neighbor and teach others to do likewise." (Adapted from Mark 12:30-31)

Our Strategy:

Our strategy is based on the truth that we are not called to judge, criticize or condemn the world, but rather to demonstrate by our lives and to share with our mouth the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the power of salvation, with all who will listen.

  • For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:17)

Our Role:

We are world changers.

  • If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. (2 Chronicles 7:14-15; See also Matt. 5:13, James 4:7-10)

Our Vision:

Our vision is founded on the truth that because God loves us He chose us with a dual purpose in mind, (1) that we might be holy and blameless in his sight and (2) to show Himself to us as a Sovereign and all-powerful God and then through us to show Himself as the same to the rest of the rest of the world.

  • For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. (Eph 1:4)
  • For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.    (2 Chronicles 16:9)
  • See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the LORD my God commanded me... Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, "Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to him? And what other nation is so great as to have such righteous decrees and laws as this body of laws I am setting before you today?" (Deuteronomy 4:5-8)

OUR MISSION AND RELATED OBJECTIVES

Our Mission Statement:

Our mission is to encourage and teach one another to sacrificially love God and their neighbor.

Our Mission Expanded:

·         To Love God with All Our Heart, Soul, Mind, and Strength...(Mark 12:30)

·         To Love Our Neighbor as Ourselves...(Mark 12:31)

·         To Love Sacrificially So That We Would Not Compromise Our Relationship with God Nor Diminish Our Ministry to Our Neighbor...(Revelation 12:11)

·         To Teach Others to Do Likewise...(Matthew 28:20)

Our Mission Objectives:

Related to loving God:

·         To worship God, which means that we love His word and therefore honor it by accepting it and making it the authority and rule for our lives.

·         To prioritize prayer for the individual, the family and the church body.

·         To stand true to the Spirit of God's commands, basing our lifestyle on the word of God, not on the traditions of the world.

Related to loving our neighbor:

·         To meet the needs of others with only secondary consideration of the cost to ourselves.

·         To proclaim Jesus to others, regardless of their reception of us.

·         To intercede for others, regardless of their acceptance or friendship.

Related to loving self-sacrificially:

·         To focus on Jesus, not self-fulfillment.

·         To yield up personal rights so that they would not interfere with giving ourselves to minister to the needs of others.

·         To allow ourselves to become Christ's visible body, controlled by him, so that the world will see Christ in us.

Related to teaching others:

·         To model the above objectives in our lives and the life of the church.

·         To encourage by support of and personal involvement in their lives.

·         To establish and implement a discipleship plan that provides for the mentoring and teaching of believers.

Mission Objectives Condensed:

1.       To worship God by obedience to His word.

2.       To commune with God in prayer.

3.       To proclaim the message of God, which is salvation through Jesus Christ.

4.       To stand true to God and faithful in service to others, regardless of personal consequences.

5.       To experience the fullness of God, our focus being fixed on Christ, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and visible to the world.

OUR GOAL:
Our goal is to share the gospel with all those in our area of influence so that not one that would be sentenced to hell could say in their own defense, "No one ever told me about Jesus!"
